Thanksgiving In A Sandwich

Every year, as November rolls around, there's a definite itch to volunteer. Late last month we completed our bi-annual cleaning of closets and donated a ton of clothes, but it didn't feel like enough. We researched NYC soup kitchens and, unfortunately, many of them offered their volunteer activities during work hours. But thanks to NY Common Pantry, we found a cool opportunity where you can make up to 200 sandwiches of your choice and donate them after hours - so we made sure to carve out some time this weekend to do just that. We didn't want to make something obvious like PB&J, so we found this awesome recipe that literally tastes like Thanksgiving in a sandwich. We ended up making 50 of them...but may have only donated 48!

Newlywed Note

This recipe is SO easy, but looks and tastes gourmet. It's a perfect way to make use of those leftovers the day after Thanksgiving. And if you're making just for fun, splurge on a fresh loaf of bread, quality turkey and fancy chutney, it's worth it!

Wrapped individually in parchment paper and tied with twine.
