V-Day, B-Day 2017

It's not every day you come home to your husband dressed in a tuxedo cooking you a meal. And not just any meal - but the re-creation of the menu of your favorite meal from your favorite restaurant on your honeymoon...with a little lobster thrown in, for tradition's sake. And, since Valentine's Day is also this particular husband's birthday, we couldn't end the night without celebrating with cake. The links to the recipes below are simply suggestions since, I'm a bit envious to say, the cook prefers going rogue and experimenting on his own. Happy belated Valentine's Day! XO

P.S. And for anyone traveling to Tuscany, the aforementioned restaurant is called Il Rossellino, located in Pienza. It has an unassuming ambiance with maybe three tables total, and an elderly couple runs the entire place. Truly the best meal we've ever had.

Primi: Cheese, meat, and bread platter with olive oil from the vineyard we stayed on (Greppi Di Silli)!

Pasta: Pappardelle di Buffalo e Vitelle (this was a ragu with buffalo meat and veal, and the pasta was homemade with basil flakes worked into the dough) - closest recipe I could find:

Secondi: Coda di Aragosta di Quercianella (we stayed in Quercianella the first few nights and their seafood was amazing):

Dolci: Pistachio Cheesecake (from Whole Foods - soooo good)
